MIAMI, FL — Monday, June 22, 2026 — Wynwood is getting a new large-scale public mural, but this one is more than a wall. It is a cultural collaboration connecting public art, the trading card industry, student creativity, soccer energy, and one of Miami’s most vibrant art districts.

Visual artist Ahkeem Shaw and Collectors Club are proud to announce Chasing Rarity, a new large-scale mural coming to one of Wynwood’s newest public courtyards to be activated. The mural will be revealed on Saturday, July 11, during Wynwood Art Walk, bringing the work into the public eye on one of the district’s most active and culturally charged nights of the month.

The collaboration brings together Ahkeem Shaw, Collectors Club, The Art Of X, OG4ever, and the Wynwood BID’s to create a mural moment designed for collectors, students, art lovers, local media, influencers, and the broader Wynwood community.

Titled Chasing Rarity, the mural captures the energy and nostalgia of searching for that rare card, the anticipation, the discovery, the chase, and the emotional connection people build with what they collect. But Shaw expands that idea into something more human: the rarity of identity, individuality, and self-expression.

The mural is a reminder that beyond what we collect, trade, or pursue, each of us carries something distinct that makes us one-of-one.

“Chasing Rarity is about the feeling behind the chase,” said Ahkeem Shaw. “In collecting, everybody knows what it feels like to search for something rare. But I wanted to take that feeling and connect it to people. The real rare card is who you are. Your story, your imagination, your identity, your expression, that is what makes you one-of-one.”

A Public Art Moment Rooted in Collecting Culture

Located in the heart of Wynwood, Collectors Club has become a destination for collectors, hobbyists, sports card enthusiasts, Pokémon fans, and culture-driven communities who understand the thrill of the chase. Through this collaboration, the world of trading cards moves beyond the display case and into the public landscape of Wynwood.

Chasing Rarity transforms the spirit of collecting into large-scale public art, celebrating the emotional connection between people, memory, rarity, and self-expression.

For Collectors Club, the mural represents an opportunity to activate its courtyard as more than a destination. It becomes a cultural landmark where collectors, visitors, families, students, artists, and the community can gather around a shared idea: rarity is not only something you find, it is something you carry.

Students Will Collaborate With Ahkeem Through The Art Of X

A defining part of the project is the involvement of The Art Of X, the evolved art education platform created to connect students, artists, community partners, and cultural programming through hands-on creative experiences.

Through The Art Of X community partners, students will collaborate with Ahkeem Shaw during the mural process, giving them access to a real public art project from the inside. This is not a classroom exercise or a passive viewing experience. Students will be invited into the artistic process, learning how an idea moves from concept, sketch, scale, collaboration, and execution into a public-facing cultural work.

The mural marks the beginning of The Art Of X’s next era of programming as it prepares for its 5th annual experience during Miami Art Week in December.

“What makes this special is that students are not just being invited to see the final mural,” said Daimion Peppers, founder of Peppers Media Group and creator of The Art Of X. “They are being invited into the process. They get to see the planning, the discipline, the problem-solving, the collaboration, and the scale of what it takes to create public art in a district like Wynwood. That is where art education becomes real-world experience.”

The Art Of X has evolved over the last several years from a hands-on student art initiative into a broader platform for creative education, mentorship, public engagement, and cultural storytelling. This collaboration signals the next phase of that evolution, positioning The Art Of X as an innovative bridge between professional artists, community partners, students, brands, and public cultural experiences.

A Special FIFA World Cup Golden Ball Trading Card Artwork Will Follow

In alignment with the global energy surrounding the FIFA World Cup, Chasing Rarity will extend beyond its July 11 reveal through a special large-scale trading card artwork featuring the FIFA World Cup Golden Ball Winner.

The concept was brought forward by Aaron, founder and owner of OG4ever, whose work continues to fuse the worlds of sports, art, culture, and community experience. OG4ever has played a critical role in facilitating the connection between Ahkeem Shaw and Collectors Club, helping shape a collaboration that brings together public art, trading card culture, soccer energy, and Wynwood’s creative landscape.

Known as a premier agency at the intersection of sports and art, OG4ever is also behind the soccer ball trail currently activated throughout Wynwood during the FIFA World Cup. The Golden Ball Winner trading card artwork builds on that momentum, creating another visual and cultural touchpoint that connects the global excitement of soccer to the district’s public art experience.

This special addition will be announced during the July 11 reveal of Chasing Rarity. After the FIFA World Cup concludes on July 19, Shaw will return to complete the Golden Ball Winner trading card artwork in a dedicated position on the mural wall.

The addition creates a powerful bridge between soccer’s highest individual tournament honor, the visual language of collectible culture, and the evolving story of the mural itself. What begins as a reveal during Wynwood Art Walk will continue after the tournament closes, giving the community, collectors, soccer fans, and media another reason to return to the wall and experience the next chapter of the collaboration.

The Golden Ball Winner trading card artwork is expected to become a major visual draw for soccer fans, collectors, content creators, and cultural media following the intersection of sports, art, fandom, and public experience during one of the biggest global moments of the year.

Connected to Let’s WYN! and the Energy of Wynwood Art Walk

The mural collaboration will also extend into Let’s WYN!, the Wynwood BID’s gamified summer soccer experience produced in partnership with OG4ever and neighborhood collaborators.

Through Let’s WYN!, visitors are encouraged to explore Wynwood through interactive missions, rewards, public art, local businesses, soccer-themed programming, and cultural stops across the district. The addition of Chasing Rarity gives participants another reason to discover Collectors Club, experience the new mural, and engage with Wynwood through an interactive cultural lens.

The July 11 reveal is especially meaningful because it falls on the second Saturday of the month, aligning with Wynwood Art Walk. With artists, locals, visitors, collectors, influencers, content creators, and tourists moving throughout the district, the reveal is positioned to become a highly visual and community-driven moment within one of Miami’s most recognized creative neighborhood.
